Ferrari experiences

Welcome to my sportcars memories

This web site are still under construction, so please excuse if everything is not ready. I would be happy to get feed back.

My more than 50 years with sportscars

This website is about my Ferrari memories, but first some history

I have been driving sportscars for 50 years. My firs car was a Porsche 356 - a wreck! But I was a lucky owner for a few months. My father saved me by purchasing a Mini. After a lot of extra jobs I turned that car into a Cooper S. Next car was a Triumph Spitfire, dark blue with white interior. Not a perfect car in the Scandinavian winter, but in the summer I was the proud owner. Needed a larger car so I bought a MGB GT racing green with braun lether interior. I still like the design of that car. But it had Lucas electrical system that often failed. Now it was time for my first Porsche - a 924 Turbo dark silver grey. In the winter this was a perfect car with a midmotor. It is like driving a gokart. You steer through the corners with the gaspedal. But the car was a little powerless. I was dreaming of a 911. 1976 was the year when a Polar Silvergreen 911 Targa was mine. A fantastic car for a young man (if you drive it careful in winter). But suddenly you get married and have children, so I had to sell it for a Mercedes 200. What a dull car. Nothing happens when you press the gaspedal. So I bought a 944 Turbo. This was a hit, perfect winter car in snow and ice as well as in the summer. I did not want to have a 911 as a daily driver with the motor in the back and icy roads. I had that car for nearly 10 years. Sooner or later the 911 was next purchase. So year 2000 I bought a 1996 Porsche Carrera 4S. How happy I was and still am. What a dream car. 4 wheel drive. Polar silverblue with blue matching interior. I still have that car and today I have driven it 170.000 kilometers. I enjoy it nearly every day.

Since I was a little boy I had wished a Ferrari. Each Christmas the Ferrari was on the list. Just for fun. After 35 years of marriage my wife said "stop nagging about a Ferrari, go and buy one". So I did! We are living in Spain since many years so I started looking for a Spider and the 430 was in the price range I could afford. We went from Costa del Sol to Barcelona to pic up the car. What a lovely suprise. This was like driving a wild horse. The exterior is Silverstone Grey with a light braun interior. We love every minute we drive it.

But how about the Porsche? We still have it and love it also! You can love two cars. They are so different. The Porsche stands for quality and reliability. The Ferrari with more than 500 horsepower wild and is a cabriolet. As Swedes we also have a Volvo ofcourse.

A part of our life are two car clubs. The Porsche club in Andalucia and the Ferrari club in Marbella. We have events every week if we want and have time. You meet other crazy car lovers and have a good time together.

There are many more car brands that are exciting. When I was 17 years old, my best friend got a second hand Austin Healy 3000 in blue and white. This car is still one of my favorites. Jaguar Etype, Triump TR6 and Morgan are other English nice looking sportscars. From Italy Lamborghini and Alfa Romeos model 1900 Super Sprint Cabriolet. From Germany the Mercedes SL500 for its look and and the iconic 300 SL . Yeas, we all have different thoughts about what we like.

With those web pages I want to share my memories with the Ferrari. I have excluded pictures with people as I do not know if they like to be published. If you would like to know about my Porsche memories go to www.porscheownersandalucia.eu

Drive Safe and enjoy your car
